With absolutely no research I have come to the independent conclusion that “atomic” style was influenced by both the space exploration fantasy and the atomic bomb fear. It’s cutesy and fun but yet belies the potential for mass destruction, alien invasion, and ultimately human extinction. ADORBS!!
