I don’t mind aging, per se, but I think Pete Townsend was saying that he hoped he could maintain his optimism, creativity, humor, vitality, idealism and perhaps radicalism for as long as he lived; rather than wanting to die before reaching a certain age. Did he? Some might say that turning Tommy into a musical belied his message but I saw Tommy 8 times and I hate musicals…. so………
