Mid-mod illustrated flowers in a contemporary work!
This is a mid-sized original artwork consisting of an illustrated black and white wood panel with natural sides depicting a mid-century modern style floral illustration with glass bauble accents, mounted with a handmade fused glass piece that incorporates the colors of the flowers that it floats above.
Glass piece is mounted to wood panel with chrome stand-offs so that the glass floats just slight above the illustration and provides depth and vibrancy of the colored glass. Glass piece can be removed for cleaning or transport.
Wall mounting hardware included on the back of the piece for easy display.

About the process:
Handmade kiln-formed glass is an art and science that produces truly one of a kind pieces. Sheet glass, ground glass, powdered glass, metals, paints and enamels are formed together using myriad techniques and then fired up to 1500f for many hours -- often multiple times -- to achieve the beautiful, sometimes geometric and sometimes organic forms that are never *quite* perfect. Bubbles, soft lines, and uneven edges are often natural features of kiln-formed glass.
