This is a mid-sized (14x11) original artwork consisting of an illustrated black and white wood panel depicting a mid-century modern style line illustration, mounted with a handmade fused glass piece that incorporates transparent glass colors of orange, turquoise and lime green in a geometric design that floats above.

Glass piece is mounted to wood panel with chrome stand-offs so that the glass floats just slightly above the illustration and provides depth and vibrancy of the colored glass. Glass piece can be removed for cleaning or transport.

Wall mounting hardware included on the back of the piece for easy display.

About the process:
Handmade kiln-formed glass is an art and science that produces truly one of a kind pieces. Sheet glass, ground glass, powdered glass, metals, paints and enamels are formed together using myriad techniques and then fired up to 1500f for many hours -- often multiple times -- to achieve the beautiful, sometimes geometric and sometimes organic forms that are never *quite* perfect. Bubbles, soft lines, and uneven edges are often natural features of kiln-formed glass.
