I love Fawlty Towers and can recite many a line from many an episode. One of my favorites is Mrs. Watt and her hearing aid. At some point she bumps her head and Basil picks up something from the floor and asks, “Is this a piece of your brain?”; and I think about that every time I make a piece that by brain seemed to need to put out into the world.

About the process:
Handmade kiln-formed glass is an art and science that produces truly one of a kind pieces. Sheet glass, ground glass, powdered glass, metals, paints and enamels are formed together using myriad techniques and then fired up to 1500f for many hours -- often multiple times -- to achieve the beautiful, sometimes geometric and sometimes organic forms that are never *quite* perfect. Bubbles, soft lines, and uneven edges are often natural features of kiln-formed glass.

  • Colors may appear slightly differently in digital photos than on the physical piece.
