"log driver" - Retro Handmade Glass Wall Art in Blue
log driver
8 in x 12 in
Glass, Wood, and Acrylic Paint
Glass Finish: Glossy
I didn’t grow up on the west coast of Canada but I sure did watch me some Beachcombers as a kid. Also subjected to never ending Heritage shorts on CBC, The Log Driver’s Waltz” is forever emblazoned on my brain. “As he goes swirling down and down the white waters…..”. This piece reminds me of the ordered and stray logs floating in the rivers in such things, and thus makes me feel extra Canadian.

About the process:
Handmade kiln-formed glass is an art and science that produces truly one of a kind pieces. Sheet glass, ground glass, powdered glass, metals, paints and enamels are formed together using myriad techniques and then fired up to 1500f for many hours -- often multiple times -- to achieve the beautiful, sometimes geometric and sometimes organic forms that are never *quite* perfect. Bubbles, soft lines, and uneven edges are often natural features of kiln-formed glass.
- Food safe unless otherwise noted.
- Dishwasher and microwave use not recommended.
- Colors may appear slightly differently in digital photos than on the physical piece.
