I remember when I was a young person, a small person, baby showers were really weird. A common gift was a potty. Those old plastic handled dealios. And a common way to present that gift was filled with lemon jello with lumpy chocolate bars floating in it. You can picture it, can’t you? I’m not saying this piece reminds me of that, but I’m not saying it doesn’t.

About the process:
Handmade kiln-formed glass is an art and science that produces truly one of a kind pieces. Sheet glass, ground glass, powdered glass, metals, paints and enamels are formed together using myriad techniques and then fired up to 1500f for many hours -- often multiple times -- to achieve the beautiful, sometimes geometric and sometimes organic forms that are never *quite* perfect. Bubbles, soft lines, and uneven edges are often natural features of kiln-formed glass.
