Maki sushi is made in a roll and then cut into slices to create a perfect bite, complete with a perfect ratio of all the flavors of the roll. Some people, people I like to call CRAZY, take one of those slices and stack the pickled ginger on it and then eat it. Tell me, crazy person, can you taste ANYTHING besides the ginger in that bite? About the process:
Handmade kiln-formed glass is an art and science that produces truly one of a kind pieces. Sheet glass, ground glass, powdered glass, metals, paints and enamels are formed together using myriad techniques and then fired up to 1500f for many hours -- often multiple times -- to achieve the beautiful, sometimes geometric and sometimes organic forms that are never *quite* perfect. Bubbles, soft lines, and uneven edges are often natural features of kiln-formed glass.
