Glass is funny. Not funny haha, but funny peculiar. Peculiar because it does things when you heat it that you may not expect, but silently, like a mime. Mimes are also peculiar. Mimes are a type of clown, and clowns can be both funny and peculiar. But mostly peculiar. And terrifying.

About the process:
Handmade kiln-formed glass is an art and science that produces truly one of a kind pieces. Sheet glass, ground glass, powdered glass, metals, paints and enamels are formed together using myriad techniques and then fired up to 1500f for many hours -- often multiple times -- to achieve the beautiful, sometimes geometric and sometimes organic forms that are never *quite* perfect. Bubbles, soft lines, and uneven edges are often natural features of kiln-formed glass.

  • Colors may appear slightly differently in digital photos than on the physical piece.
