As you move through life, you pick up many phrases and idioms, and when you particularly like them you may use and repeat often and for the rest of your life. And sometimes they become a philosophy; a guiding principle. My coworkers Lou and Tony gave me a favorite expression of their dad’s: “Sure, why not?” … except he said it in a deep Italian-Canadian accent. So when faced with a life-changing decision, a ‘should you or shouldn't you’ moment, like whether you will buy this platter…. evoke the undeniable wisdom of Mr. Liuzza and respond “Shoo, why no?”

About the process:
Handmade kiln-formed glass is an art and science that produces truly one of a kind pieces. Sheet glass, ground glass, powdered glass, metals, paints and enamels are formed together using myriad techniques and then fired up to 1500f for many hours -- often multiple times -- to achieve the beautiful, sometimes geometric and sometimes organic forms that are never *quite* perfect. Bubbles, soft lines, and uneven edges are often natural features of kiln-formed glass.
